Terms of Service

Welcome to Deenspace. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Deenspace platform, including our website, mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform"). Deenspace is a marketplace that connects users ("Guests") with Muslim-friendly workspaces, coworking areas, and event venues ("Spaces") listed by independent hosts ("Hosts").

By accessing or using Deenspace, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform. Our Platform is built on the principles of trust (amanah) and fair dealing (muamalah), and we expect all members of our community to uphold these values.

By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Payments Terms of Service.

Deenspace reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

To use Deenspace, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction.
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Platform.
• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with any third party.
• Notify Deenspace immediately of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
• Ensure all information in your account profile is accurate and up to date.
• Accept responsibility for all activities conducted through your account, whether or not authorised by you.

Deenspace is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

4.1 Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed through our payment partner, Stripe. Upon confirmation, both the Guest and Host will receive a booking confirmation via email and in-app notification. Deenspace acts as an intermediary and is not a party to the agreement between Guest and Host.

4.2 Standard Cancellation Policy

Unless otherwise specified by the Host, the following standard cancellation policy applies:

• Free cancellation within 24 hours of booking, provided the booking start date is more than 48 hours away.
• 50% refund for cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the booking start time.
• No refund for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the booking start time or for no-shows.

4.3 Host-Specific Policies

Hosts may set their own cancellation policies, which will be clearly displayed on the Space listing before booking. Where a Host has specified a custom cancellation policy, that policy takes precedence over the standard policy. Guests are responsible for reviewing the applicable cancellation policy before completing a booking.

Deenspace is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and trustworthy community. In the spirit of Islamic ethics and good character (husn al-khuluq), all users are expected to:

• Treat all members of the community with respect, courtesy, and dignity.
• Communicate honestly and in good faith with Hosts, Guests, and Deenspace staff.
• Adhere to all rules and guidelines set by Hosts for their Spaces.
• Leave Spaces in the condition in which they were found, or better.
• Not engage in any form of discrimination, harassment, or abusive behaviour.
• Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Not misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the purpose of your booking.
• Respect the privacy and personal information of other users.

Violation of these conduct standards may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform, at Deenspace's sole discretion.

All content, features, and functionality of the Deenspace Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, software, and the compilation thereof, are the exclusive property of Deenspace or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any material from the Platform without the prior written consent of Deenspace, except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

By posting content on the Platform (including reviews, photos, and descriptions), you grant Deenspace a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with the operation of the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Deenspace and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Platform.
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Platform, including any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of other users or third parties.
• Any content obtained from the Platform.
• Unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
• The condition, quality, safety, or legality of any Space listed on the Platform.

Deenspace acts as a platform connecting Guests and Hosts, and does not own, operate, manage, or control any Spaces listed on the Platform. Deenspace's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Deenspace in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8.1 Informal Resolution

In keeping with the Islamic principle of seeking amicable resolution (sulh), we encourage all parties to first attempt to resolve disputes informally. If you have a dispute with another user or with Deenspace, please contact us at support@deenspace.com and we will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days.

8.2 Mediation

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may submit the dispute to mediation. The mediation shall be conducted by a mutually agreed-upon mediator in London, United Kingdom, unless both parties agree to an alternative location or virtual proceedings.

8.3 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
